Bob Marley

Today we have another toon of the largest icon of Reggae, Bob Marley. He popularized Jamaica’s own style of music to the entire world. He was born in Jamaica to a middle-aged white father and a young black mother. At 14 he left home to study under singer and Rastafarian Joe Higgs to pursue his music career. His first single was “Judge Not” which came out in 1962. In 1963 he grouped with other singers Peter Tosh, Bunny Livingston, Junior Braithwaite, Beverly Kelso and Cherry Smith who would be called “the Teenagers”, then “Wailing Rudeboys” and finally “the Wailers”. They would go on to achieve amazing success. There was much faith and spirtituality in his music, in his homeland of Jamaica he became somewhat of a prophet, which was also a threat in some circles. In December of 1976 he was wounded in an attempt at his murder, forcing him to leave Jamaica for a while. It was not over though, Marley would go on to produce his biggest album yet. Unfortunately this would later be followed by tragedy, one day while jogging in central park he collapsed, he had suffered with cancer that had spread to his brain, lungs and liver. Bob Marley passed away on May 11, 1981 at the age of 36.

NICE! Felix is amazing! Mr. Gariepy, how can you not like the other Bob toon?! Wutever, this toon is awesome. My favorite part is the joint in his hand.

me parece muy bacano que pongan caricaturas del biejobob ya que me parece el mejor cantante regge del mundo “es mi idolo”
