Frank Zappa

Felix has tooned the legendary rock composer Frank Zappa. In addition to guitar-heavy 70’s rock, Zappa also did a lot of humerous and satirical music. He got his start joining a band in 1964 called the Soul Giants, later known as the Mothers. Zappa released several albums over the years both with the Mothers and solo on his own record label. His complex music would go on to be used by rock musicians in developing their skills. Sadly Zappa died from cancer in 1993.

This reminds me of a video I saw with similar clay animation. I was at the rock n’ roll hall of fame up in cleveland, and at the time I thought it was Pink Floyd’s “The Wall,” but I soon came to realize it wasn’t. The video I saw mainly focused on the female anatomy, especially the sex organs, and things seemed to mainly come out of that general area. It blew my mind, the only other clay animation I had seen was Gumby. Does anyone know if that’s a Zappa video or if it was directed by the same person?

Zappa is immortal. Supposedly he actually was big anti-drug. But how could someone not stoned name kids Dweezil and Moon Unit? Oh well, Hot Rats is one of the best albums in history. Willie the Pimp is amazing; Captain Beefheart sounds like a dying street performer singing a wry take on Howling Wolf.**
