"Cake is a really unique band, with a very distinctive sound, so I figured they'd be a fun group to 'toon. After drawing this pic, however, I began to realize that no matter how unique they sound, all the popular bands these days are beginning to look alike. I mean, they all have at least two guys with beards, a bald guy, and one guy that is significantly shorter / taller than the others. The lead singers always have a distinctive look and are always fun to draw, but crawing background musicians is starting to become a boring, repetitive task."
