From the mind of the musically talented Brendon Small, that brought us the hilarious and underated Home Movies cartoon, comes the Norwegian metal band, Dethklok, showcasing their own new show, Metalocalypse, on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica even do the voices of a couple fan characters that appear in the premier episode.

The Sex Pistols Are Not Hall of Fame Monkeys

Just a few months ago we announced that the Sex Pistols were slated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well as some other bands. Apparently the remaining Sex Pistol members are not having it. They say that “next to the Sex Pistols, rock and roll and that hall of fame is a piss stain”, and that they are not their “monkeys”. The hand written letter with their statement is posted at the Sex Pistols website as well as Johnny Rotten’s. Full article at BBC News.

WARNING: Sony Recalls XCP CD Albums

Before you go sticking your newest music CD produced by Sony BMG in your computer you may want to do some checking first for an XCP website address on the back cover. Sony has produced virus-like software to embed itself deep in your Windows operating system in an attempt at copy protection. Instead what you have is a huge security hole for other viruses or even malicious websites to exploit. So it seems like you, who has purchased the album are actually being punished. After major public outcry, millions of CD with this DRM rootkit are now being recalled from stores as well as a swap program to exchange your infected CD with a clean one and software is being made available by Microsoft and Sony for the removal of Sony’s XCP software. Paul McCartney’s Space Concert

Sir Paul McCartney of Beatles fame performed a concert last night that was transmitted to space. It’s pretty standard for astronauts to be woken with music, but this time NASA astronaut Bill McArthur and Russian Cosmonaut Valery Tokarev were awoken to a live concert. It was also broacast on NASA television showing live feeds from space. From USA Today.
