Wednesday, December 31, 2003:
It seems the RockToons server in its crazy activity suffered a stroke that left it inaccessible for a couple weeks. Got the problem fixed and updates are back in motion. We'll start the stroke recovery with the Strokes by Anna, originally guest art, but too good not to have featured as a RockToon. See you next year!

Today's toon is a screenshot of a music video for Tori Amos done by Tyler. The video was for a contest, he didn't win though, he wasn't even a finalist, they picked some silly ones instead. He's not sore though, he did burn his Tori Amos CD's and claim she was a fire-headed devil woman, but he's doing much better.

It's the weekend! With it comes the first guest art in a long while. Not because there was a shortage of it, we have tons of guest art ready to share with you, but rather because we have had such a surplus of official RockToons to post. Today's guest art comes from Melissa Dow who has created some excellent toons of ICP, Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins and Type O Negative.

We have not heard from Marc Aspinall in a long, long time. He is one of the artists that just kind of disappeared. From the RockToons "lost files", we bring you Marc's rendition of Korn that we found.

All the forests in the Southwest United States seem to be in flames. Kind of sad. Having no connection to that, Maria has tooned In Flames. We hope they put their campfire all the way out.

Oh, hi there, just singing. Gotta love that movie, that theme song, the techno remix is gravy. Speaking of that movie, the hero's name is Atreyu, and so is the band that Chad just tooned. Guess they are big fans too. Wow, we have been swarming with RockToons this month. Not to worry, some guest art coming soon.

We are excited to announce our newest RockToons artist: Anna Pougatcheva. We are happily starting the weekend off with her wonderful toon of the White Stripes. We have previously featured Anna's guest art of The Strokes earlier this year.

If you went back in time and told your friends that Chris Cornell was going to leave Soundgarden and play with Rage Against the Machine, they would probably laugh at you. They might even not be your friends anymore. And that one guy, he might even punch you, but he was never really a good friend anyway. At any rate, it did happen and we are now featuring our second toon of Audioslave, this one was done by Scott.

We are happy to announce that Entertainment Toons is getting updated again. At Entertainment Toons you will find non-rock celebrity toons done by RockToons artists. Also RockToons will be sharing a bit of forum space dedicated to Entertainment Toons discussion.

Furthering our goal to become a behemoth website we are adding Behemoth to the band toon list. We locked Adam in a dark cellar for a few days to produce this one.

Another bloody toon for you. This one's got ink and blood, ink is like toon blood so that's actually like blood and blood. It's The Used to a The Taste of Ink theme by Chad. We're hoping in addition to blood, one of the RockToons artists could feature snot and piss too, and they could get some sort of bodily fluid award.

They Might Be Giants, then again, they might be toons, actually, they are toons, now anyway. Also we have been informed that Adam's Otep toon was also pretty bloody. The bloody Mudvayne background may have pushed it over the edge. We are currently examining the relative pints of blood shown in each toon to see which one actually contains more blood.

Not only has Scott impressively cartoon-rendered Mudvayne with their new look, but simultaneously he has created what is to be officially known as the bloodiest RockToon ever. What a guy!

Hopefully you made it through April Fool's day without too much joke treachery. Today's guest art comes from Leslie Wyatt. It is of the band Theory of A Dead Man, who were co-produced by and many songs co-written by Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.

Chad scrapped Stone Sour (maybe it will appear backstage or something) and instead created Staind including the full band. Next he'll be doing a toon of the various incarnations of Marilyn Manson.

Chad did this White Stripes toon a while ago but it slipped through the cracks. It has finally made its way here for your enjoyment. Be on the lookout for new guest art this week. Right after we told you to go to the forum to give some feedback on the guest section the forum glitched. Maybe too many of you pounded it. Apparently it overflowed with information but the problem (apparently a common and unnecessary one in the software that powers the forum) has been fixed and fortunately none of the forum's data was lost.

We have a bunch of new guest art to share with you too but we would like to revamp the guest art section a bit... at least organize it to handle a lot more toons. You are currently experiencing some changes. We will be reformatting the site a bit over the next month. Updates will still be here in the news area and they should be more frequent. The last 6 toons added to the site will be shown up above. This update's new offerings are the long awaited Guns N' Roses, Mindless Self Indulgence and (hed) pe along with a band called Bowling For Soup.

Also the guest art area is going to be redeveloped and we are going to post new ones a lot more frequently. Those updates will also be mentioned here on the main page. So if you have been meaning to send in some guest rock toon art, now is the time.

Tuesday, February 18, 2003:
We are featuring new toons of Deadsy, Superjoint Ritual, Tobias Sammet and we have added to our Coal Chamber, Static-X and Tool collections. This update has been a little while coming but we've already got finished toons lined up for the next update which should be just around the corner.
